How To Use A Glass Pipe?

Step 1: Pack the Bowl

Take a loose pinch of chosen tobacco and place it in the bowl of the pipe. Gently pack it down with a tamper. Add a second pinch and tamp again. The bowl should be half full. Add a third pinch and tamp. If the bowl is now two-thirds full, add another pinch and tamp down, leaving a little space at the top.

Step 2: Take a Test Draw

Before lighting the tobacco, ensure air flows freely through the pipe by taking a couple of test puffs. If the air doesn't flow freely, empty the pipe and start over.

Step 3: Light Your Pipe

Be careful when lighting. If using matches, let them burn for a second after lighting so the sulfur can burn off. Apply the flame from a match or lighter to the bowl in a circular motion while gently drawing on the pipe. Pipes typically light with a “false light” first. To get “true light”, let the false light go out and then light the tobacco again.

Step 4: Draw on Your Pipe

As with cigars, pipe smoking is about tasting the tobacco, not inhaling the smoke. Since pipe tobacco can be strong, inhaling the smoke can be overwhelming and ruin the experience. Take small puffs into your mouth and savor the flavors in the tobacco before blowing the smoke out.

How To Clean A Glass Pipe?

To clean a weed pipe with alcohol, combine isopropyl alcohol (IPA) and coarse salt in a zip-lock bag. The alcohol dissolves resin while the salt acts as an abrasive. Submerge the pipe, seal the bag, and gently shake. Soak for 30 minutes, shaking occasionally. Rinse thoroughly with warm water and air dry. This method is effective for glass and metal pipes but not recommended for wood or silicone pipes.

• Pour 99% IPA into a zip-lock bag, enough to cover the pipe.
• Add 2 teaspoons of coarse salt to the bag.
• Seal the bag and gently shake the mixture.
• Let soak for 30 minutes, occasionally shaking the bag.
• Rinse with warm water and air dry.

Avoid using boiling water on glass pipes as the sudden temperature change can cause cracks from thermal shock.
